Chapter 6

Is There Leprosy in Your House?

God has a dream for your home. He wants your house to be a haven. He's planned that your family and your guests will be contented when you sit down for fellowship. He intends that your dwelling place will be a productive and fertile garden where His Spirit reigns and you are free to speak of His Word and His anointing. Your home, as God has prescribed it should be, is a place filled with a rich atmosphere of love and acceptance. Words of revelation knowledge fall frequently from your lips, and you speak freely about the fire of revival and the moving of God's Spirit.

In this holy house dedicated to God and sealed in peace, the Holy Spirit speaks directly to your heart with anointed rhema words, helping you to win souls and to free the hurting in your neighborhood or workplace. The divine Teacher is welcomed as He makes the Word of God come alive in your heart, burning its truth deeply into your spirit. Even while you sleep, the Comforter comes over you with divine creativity and direction, ordering your steps for the day ahead. God is pleased to dwell in this house. He finds great joy in the love and fellowship.

Are temper tantrums and fits of rage commonplace? Do you regularly fill your children's ears with cutting words, negative comments, and belittling sarcasm? Does bickering over unimportant details you can't even remember later fill the rooms of your house? Is verbal battering and emotional abuse so prevalent that your family avoids sharing meals together?

If you answered yes to one or more of these questions, something is seriously wrong with your home. You can't ignore this problem, my friend, consoling yourself with the knowledge that other people live the same way.

Dismissing a problem is never the answer, but first you must admit that you have a problem, that a plague is loose in your house, trying to destroy you and your family.

When revival broke out, I noticed that people who had been touched by the power of God would get up off the floor and go home rejoicing. Sometimes entire families—father, mother, children, grandparents—lay on the floor for hours under the power of God. But on the way home, they ended up in a big fight! Children who had shed tears under the anointing of God became rude, disobedient boys and girls who openly challenged their parents and one another.

My heart ached as I heard one story after another from people who were just wonderful in church but just awful in their homes. When they left the environment
